Job Title: HVAC Installer

The HVAC Installer will mainly be responsible for assisting in the servicing of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems in multi- and single-family homes. All installations must follow proper code and Power Pro Plumbing Heating & Air’s high-quality standards. This person must report to the HVAC Supervisor daily and be ready to work.

Required Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3+ years experience in HVAC service and repair
  • Current HVAC EPA Certification required
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
  • Lead Installer (min. 5 – 7 yrs. exp) EPA and/or NATE certified
    • Must be able to perform the following, including Level 1 and 2 Installer experience:
      • Cut In Layout Duct Run’s Layout
      • Brazing – Vacuum – Recovery
      • Electrical * from panel to disconnect
      • PVC – Primary and Secondary
      • GAS – ½”, ¾” * Sediment Trap and Track Pipe
      • Customer Service and Invoicing
      • Complete Install * Complete Up to Code
    • Level 2 Installer (min. 3 – 5 yrs exp.) must have EPA certification
      • Must be able to perform the following, including Level 1 Installer experience:
        • Brazing – Vacuum – Recovery
        • Properly make Duct Connection
        • Hang Furnace Coil in Attic
        • Cut Openings for Supply Plenums
        • Run Line Set Copper
        • PVC – Primary and Secondary and GAS
        • Cut In Layouts
        • Electrical in Attic and Low Voltage Wiring
    • Level 1 Installer (min. 1 – 2 yrs exp.) must be on track for EPA certification
      • Must be able to perform the following:
        • Properly make Duct Connections / Run Flex
        • Seal HVAC Plenums
        • Install Register
        • Wire Thermostats
        • Beginning PVC and Must be able to follow directions of the Lead Installer

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be drug-free and be able to pass new-hire and random drug screenings
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Willingness to invest in tools used in the services of HVAC equipment
  • Motivated to invest time into training to advance job positions
  • Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service and communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret manuals
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions as given

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of following all Safety Guidelines
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
  • Can work in situations requiring heights and tight working conditions from extension and step ladders
  • Can use safe lifting procedures on the job
  • Can work use the full range of body motion to include:
    • Climbing
    • Stooping
    • Kneeling
    • Balancing
    • Reaching
    • Lifting
    • Bending
    • Twisting
