We Install & Service Rheem
Rheem
Rheem is one of America's largest water-heating manufacturers, and it's a core brand in Power Pro's plumbing work: we install, repair, and maintain Rheem tank, tankless, and ProTerra heat-pump water heaters — plus Rheem heating and cooling equipment — across Los Angeles & Orange County, 24/7.
- Power Pro installs and services Rheem equipment; our verified manufacturer dealer credential is with Daikin (see our Daikin Comfort Pro guide).
- Rheem tankless gas water heaters: 15-year heat exchanger / 5-year parts / 1-year labor limited warranty.
- Rheem ProTerra hybrid heat-pump water heaters: 10-year limited tank & parts warranty.
- Registering a Rheem water heater doesn't change the warranty length — the term runs from the serial number's manufacture date (or install date with proof of purchase).
- California homeowners keep Rheem's conditional HVAC coverage without registering, under CA Civil Code §1793.1.
Who is Rheem, and where do they fit in your home?
Rheem is a roughly century-old American manufacturer and one of the country's largest names in water heating. For a plumbing-led company like Power Pro, the practical read is simple: when a tank fails, we can replace it same-day, and Rheem's range covers the whole spectrum — standard gas and electric tanks, high-efficiency tankless units, and the electrification-ready ProTerra heat-pump line.
Rheem also builds residential heating and cooling equipment, which we install and service alongside our flagship Daikin line.
What about Rheem Pro Partners?
Rheem runs a Pro Partner program — its designation for independent contractors who meet Rheem-validated standards with ongoing training. That's Rheem's program, and we describe it here for homeowner education. Power Pro's positioning with Rheem is straightforward: we install and service Rheem equipment; our verified manufacturer dealer credential is the Daikin Comfort Pro program.
Rheem product lines we work with

Heating & Cooling
Rheem air conditioners, heat pumps, and furnaces — installed and serviced alongside our flagship Daikin line.
Rheem's warranty, plainly
- Tankless gas (residential): 15-year heat exchanger / 5-year parts / 1-year labor limited warranty per Rheem's certificate. Coverage is reduced on uncontrolled continuously-pumped recirculation loops, and Rheem requires professional installation — DIY can invalidate coverage.
- ProTerra hybrid heat-pump: 10-year limited tank & parts plus 1-year in-home labor; original owner only, not transferable.
- Tank water heaters: warranty length varies by series — commonly 6–12 years tank & parts. Check your model's certificate for exact terms.
- Heating & cooling: up to a 10-year parts limited warranty on qualifying models, with conditional unit-replacement or lifetime coverage on select premium models. Conditional terms require registration within 90 days at registermyunit.com — not conditioned on registration for California homeowners.
- Rheem water-heater warranties apply to the original owner at the original installation location and are not transferable.

How to register your Rheem product
- 1 Water heaters: go to Rheem's warranty & registration page (rheem.com/warranties), choose “Water Heating”, enter the serial number from the rating label, confirm your model, property type, and install date, then submit.
- 2 Heating & cooling: register at registermyunit.com within 90 days of installation to secure conditional coverage on qualifying models.
- 3 Keep your Power Pro invoice: for water heaters, the warranty clock runs from the serial number's manufacture date, or from your install date with proof of purchase.
California callout: state law (Civil Code §1793.1) doesn't let warranty rights depend on registration — you keep coverage either way. Register anyway for faster claims and cleaner records.

Rheem FAQs
What voids a Rheem water heater warranty? +
Common issues include commercial use of residential units, installation outside Rheem's specifications (for example, a tankless unit on an uncontrolled recirculating loop cuts the heat-exchanger term to 3 years), DIY installation of tankless models, exceeding 12,000 operating hours on tankless units, and moving the unit from its original installation location. Coverage applies to the original owner only.
Do I have to register my Rheem water heater to keep the warranty? +
No. The warranty period runs from the manufacture date encoded in the serial number, or from your install date with proof of purchase. Registering makes claims faster — and keep your installation invoice either way.
Does the Rheem warranty cover labor? +
Mostly parts and tank only. Rheem's tankless and ProTerra warranties include 1 year of labor; after that, labor is on the owner. Power Pro Club members carry an extended labor warranty as a membership benefit — see our plans page for details.
Is a Rheem warranty transferable if I sell my home? +
Water-heater warranties are not transferable — they cover the original owner at the original installation location. Rheem's conditional HVAC coverage is likewise tied to the original owner; check the certificate for your specific model.
How long is the warranty on a Rheem tankless water heater? +
Residential Rheem tankless gas units carry a 15-year heat-exchanger limited warranty, 5-year parts, and 1-year labor. With proper maintenance — including an annual flush, important in hard-water LA and Orange County — units routinely serve beyond that.
What is a Rheem Pro Partner? +
It's Rheem's designation for independent contractors who meet Rheem-validated standards with ongoing training. Power Pro installs and services Rheem equipment; our verified manufacturer dealer credential is the Daikin Comfort Pro program.
Should I choose a ProTerra heat-pump water heater in California? +
ProTerra hybrids deliver up to roughly 4x the efficiency of standard electric water heaters, carry Rheem's 10-year tank & parts warranty, and can stack federal tax credits with utility rebates — making them California's strongest electrification pick. Talk to us about sizing and placement for your home.
