Water Heater Services in Pasadena, CA
Licensed water heaters pros serving Pasadena and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley area — 24/7, with same-day appointments.
Pasadena homeowners have called Power Pro first for 20+ years — for everything from middle-of-the-night emergencies to planned upgrades. Your service is dispatched from our Cerritos office, so a licensed, background-checked technician is genuinely nearby, not "in your area" in name only.
The San Gabriel Valley runs noticeably hotter than the coast in summer, so properly sized air conditioning is essential rather than optional. Postwar slab-on-grade tracts make slab leaks a familiar local failure, and groundwater-served areas have some of the hardest water in the county. Many 1950s–60s homes are on their original galvanized supply piping.
Every visit starts the same way: we diagnose, explain your options in plain language, and put exact pricing in writing before any work begins. We back it with a price match guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee — and 1,400+ Google reviews across Los Angeles & Orange County keep us honest.
Pasadena facts that shape water heater work
Water hardness
Pasadena Water and Power reported average hardness of 236 mg/L (about 13.8 grains per gallon) in 2024 water quality testing, with samples ranging 208–270 mg/L — very hard on the USGS scale. Hardness minerals settle as sediment in the bottom of a tank water heater, so at 13.8 grains per gallon regular flushing does more to protect a Pasadena tank than it would on soft water.

Gas utility & rebates
Pasadena natural gas service is SoCalGas. SoCalGas pays $300–$575 on a qualifying high-efficiency gas tank water heater.

Electric utility & rebates
Electric service in Pasadena comes from Pasadena Water and Power (PWP), the utility a heat pump water heater would run on if you switch from a gas tank. Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is municipal, so SCE programs do not apply to a heat pump water heater here; Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) runs its own programs.

Permits
Even a like-for-like water heater swap at a Pasadena address needs a permit from the City of Pasadena Building & Safety Division, and California requires the new heater to be seismically strapped. We pull the Pasadena permit and meet the inspector.
