Air Filter Replacement in Cerritos

Power Pro Plumbing, Heating & Air replaces air filters in Cerritos and across LA and Orange County, as a standalone service, during every tune-up, and automatically for Power Club members, matching each filter to your blower's capacity.

Your air filter is the front line of your home's air quality, and once loaded with dust it stops protecting and starts restricting your system. We stock the right sizes and grades, and we'll match the filter to both your air quality goals and your blower's actual capacity.

If anyone in your home deals with allergies or asthma, the filter conversation is worth having: upgrading from basic fiberglass to quality pleated or HEPA-grade media is one of the cheapest meaningful air quality improvements available.

How often should you replace your air filter?

Replace your air filter every 1 to 12 months, depending on the filter and your household:

  • Basic 1"–3" filters: every 1–3 months
  • Pleated media filters: every 3–6 months
  • HEPA-grade filters: every 6–12 months
  • Pets, allergies, smoke events, or nearby construction: shorten every interval — checking monthly costs nothing

What does a neglected air filter cost you?

A neglected filter costs you comfort, energy, and sometimes equipment. Airflow drops and rooms drift from their set temperatures; the blower works harder and energy bills creep up; dust starts bypassing the filter into the coil and ducts; and in the worst cases the AC coil freezes or the furnace trips on overheating. The filter is the cheapest part in the system — letting it fail is how cheap parts cause expensive problems.

What does Power Pro's filter service include?

Every filter service visit includes inspecting the current filter and housing, checking for bypass gaps where air sneaks around the media, installing the correctly sized replacement, and a quick airflow verification. Ask us to set up a schedule — or let Power Club handle it, where filter care rides along with your annual AC and heating tune-ups, priority scheduling, and member discounts.

Air Filter Replacement FAQs

How often should I really change my filter? +

Check monthly, and replace basic filters every 1–3 months, pleated every 3–6, HEPA-grade every 6–12. Homes with pets or allergy sufferers should run the short end of each range. If the filter looks gray and loaded, its schedule is telling you it's due regardless of the calendar.

Does a more expensive filter actually make a difference? +

For air quality, yes — quality pleated and HEPA-grade media capture the fine particles (pollen, dander, smoke) that basic fiberglass lets through. The caveat is airflow: your blower must support the denser filter, which we verify before recommending an upgrade.

Why does my filter get dirty so fast? +

Pets, carpet, recent construction dust, doors and windows open to a busy street, or leaky return ducts pulling attic air all accelerate loading. If a filter loads in weeks instead of months, it's worth finding out why — sometimes the fix is duct sealing, not more filters.

Can you handle filters as part of regular maintenance? +

Yes — filter service is included in our tune-ups, and Power Club membership ($12.95/month) makes it automatic alongside annual AC, heating, plumbing, and drain care.
