At Power Pro Plumbing Heating & Air, we're looking for a highly skilled HVAC Installer with specific certifications and expert knowledge of HVAC concepts. The HVAC Installer is mainly responsible for the installation and servicing of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems in multi- and single-family homes. All installations must follow proper code and Power Pro's high-quality standards. This person reports to the HVAC Supervisor daily and must be ready to work.
We hire at three levels: Lead Installer (min. 5–7 years' experience, EPA and/or NATE certified) handling cut-in layouts and duct-run layouts, brazing/vacuum/recovery, electrical from panel to disconnect, PVC (primary and secondary), gas lines (½", ¾", sediment trap and track pipe), customer service and invoicing, and complete to-code installs. Level 2 Installer (min. 3–5 years, EPA certified) covering brazing/vacuum/recovery, duct connections, hanging furnace coils in attics, cutting openings for supply plenums, running line-set copper, PVC and gas, cut-in layouts, and attic electrical with low-voltage wiring. Level 1 Installer (min. 1–2 years, on track for EPA certification) making duct connections and running flex, sealing HVAC plenums, installing registers, wiring thermostats, and beginning PVC under the direction of the Lead Installer.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–3+ years of experience in HVAC service and repair
- Current HVAC EPA certification required (Level 1 hires must be on track for it)
- Valid driver's license and clean MVR
- Willingness to invest in the tools used to service HVAC equipment
- Motivated to invest time in training to advance job positions, with a commitment to developing customer service and communication skills
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to read and interpret manuals and follow verbal and written directions
- Able to follow all safety guidelines, operate hand and power tools safely, work at heights and in tight conditions from extension and step ladders, use safe lifting procedures, and use a full range of body motion (climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, lifting, bending, twisting)
- Must be drug-free and able to pass new-hire and random drug screenings and a background check
