Downey homeowners have called Power Pro first for 20+ years — for everything from middle-of-the-night emergencies to planned upgrades. Your service is dispatched from our Cerritos office, so a licensed, background-checked technician is genuinely nearby, not "in your area" in name only.

The Gateway Cities are classic 1950s tract-home territory along the 605, 91, and 710, where slab-on-grade foundations make slab leaks a signature local problem. Original galvanized supply pipe and cast-iron drains from that era are now 60-plus years old. Imported water in much of the area is hard, so water heaters scale up quickly without regular flushing.

Every visit starts the same way: we diagnose, explain your options in plain language, and put exact pricing in writing before any work begins. We back it with a price match guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee — and 1,400+ Google reviews across Los Angeles & Orange County keep us honest.

Downey facts that shape indoor air quality solutions work

Housing age

53.5% of Downey's 35,919 housing units (about 19,220) were built before 1960 and 82.9% (about 29,780) before 1980; the median year built is 1959 (Census ACS 2020–2024). Homes built before 1978 predate the federal ban on lead-based residential paint, and EPA's RRP rule requires certified firms and lead-safe work practices when work disturbs painted surfaces in them, which covers duct and air-handler work in many Downey houses.

Downey homes are served by SoCalGas, and any California home with a gas furnace, water heater, range, fireplace, or attached garage must have carbon monoxide alarms under the Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Act (SB 183).
